Your teen can thrive in PCA’s family atmosphere that offers a
Christ- centered academic environment.
Academics
The strength of Palisades Christian Academy’s academic program is its people. Washington State and Seventh-day Adventist certified teachers, who display and demand excellence, structure a curriculum that interfaces standard state and Seventh-day Adventist requisites with personalized application. Projects that facilitate co-curricular learning and opportunities for leadership and presentation in the classroom develop outstanding students who are prepared to enter any higher level of education. Special opportunities are provided for students to grow their leadership, problem-solving and faith skills. Two years of High School at Palisades Christian Academy provide a great bridge to Running Start programs at Eastern or Spokane Community Colleges.
Technology
All 9th and 10th graders receive a new laptop computer for their own use, and it is theirs to keep after they complete their Sophomore year at PCA. These computers are for use in and out of the classroom. Instruction integrates research and writing with an emphasis on presentation using Microsoft Office applications. Students develop their keyboarding and note-taking skills using computers. Programming is also taught as a part of the curriculum.
Family
Palisades Christian Academy offers many benefits to the students and families in its constituency. The strength we are most excited about is our emphasis on family. Not only do we in every way attempt to support the family life of our students, we strive every day to provide a “school family” that develops intellectual curiosity and excellence, provides opportunities for wholesome social interaction, and develops the moral and spiritual nature of our students. At PCA students have an opportunity to gain maturity in a smaller setting before attending larger schools. Students also have a shorter school day—typically 8:30 AM - 3:15 PM. This provides families evening and weekend times with their teens through the sophomore year.
Music and Sports
Develop vocal or instrument skills in an environment that lets students grow and experiment with many different types of music. Help lead out in worship with PCA’s 24-7 Worship Leadership Band. Be a member of the Advanced Band, Pep Band, or Hand Bells and be challenged with more difficult music. Students enjoy soccer, volleyball, basketball, golf, and track and field. Stretch yourself by learning new skills and keeping healthy and fit.
